Error in mshtml.dll for IE8 and Yahoo Messenger

Few days back in my computer yahoo messenger started to crash. I'm using the latest version that is of cause version 10 for yahoo messenger. I have reinstalled the program, but it didn't fix the problem. So, I have check the event viewer on the computer for more details about this problem. This is what I found on the log.

Unable to open drives by double clicking

Most of the time this is caused by a virus or malware. This type of viruses and malwares mostly spreading through a flash drive which you are taking everywhere. The problem is when you have removed the virus or malware using a virus remover or malware remover still you can't open drives by double clicking on them. This happens because the changes that happen to registry values not been set to normal by the virus or malware removing software. So we need to manually correct them.

Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.2 Firmware with Blackra1n

On last Thursday (October 8th 2009) Apple releases their newest iPhone OS. So, it will bringing the current version of the OS to 3.1.2. Three bugs has been fixed with this update. Yesterday On the iPhone blog posted a news about releasing a jailbreak called blackra1n for this new Apple OS 3.1.2. This will only work in Windows operating systems and if you already have a unlocked iPhone 3G or 3GS don't use this on them. Do not upgrade to 3.1.2 using iTunes if you want to keep your iPhone unlocked.

Gmail introduced themes back in November 2008. If you still didn't use themes for Gmail please read this article about how to use Gmail themes. Google Wave Arrives This Month

On September 30th Google will start sending 100,000 invites for the early test of Google Wave. So, there is chance for more people to experience this personal communication and collaboration tool which was announced at the Google I/O conference on May 27, 2009. Google Monopoly - City Streets

Google is taking over the whole word. Just to prove that now they are come up with a online version of classic popular board game called Monopoly. Yes that's true. The board game Monopoly is about to launch an online version with Google Maps. The release date set to September 9 (which is today) and still I was not able to view the teaser site.




According to the Monopoly City Streets Blog due to heavy traffic there website is down for the moment. But they are asking from us to be more patient and keep trying to log in to the website.

Fixed nv4_disp stuck in an infinite loop problem

If you are reading this blog you may know that I have a problem on my computer. I'm getting a BSOD (Blue Screen Of Dead) saying "the device driver got stuck in an infinite loop" while loading the desktop icons. Earlier I have posted a tip to prevent this occurring again. (Read my previous post about nv4_disp stuck in an infinite loop from here) But unfortunately it didn't work for me too long. During last week i faced this problem over and over again. Since there was no correct solution anywhere I have to uninstalled the display drivers and use my computer for time being. It was so difficult.

I don't want to believe that my VGA card was damaged some how because without drivers it is working fine. But just to make sure it's condition I have decided to take a look at the inside of my computer. I have not open the case for many months and it's full of dust. So I have blow out the dust using a blower and then removed the VGA card from the mother board. I have checked the circuit board and every part of the card and couldn't find any problem. So I have clean it up also and fixed it back to the mother board. Then I have boot my system back and installed the drivers for the VGA card once again.



Wow ! This time it worked. Drivers installed without any problem and my desktop load after the restart without any problem. I'm using my computer for weeks now without any problem. So, here is my tip if you are having the same problem on a older computer. Please clean your computer, clean your VGA card, clean the slots then give it a try again. I'm using twitter for some time and it is a great tool to gather new information. I'm not usually tweet personal things on to my twitter account but many do. I'm using twitter to spread the news about my technology blog to fellow twitter users. The Basic idea is to send all my new posts which I put on my blog to twitter. For some twitter is a great tool to get visitors to their sites. Normally Twitter is web based tool that you can type 140 characters. But using few web base applications we can do many things with twitter. Here are few twitter applications that I'm using. How many of them are you using ?

This Lite version of Facebook will be super fast comparing to the current Facebook. Because still they are testing it not everybody is allow to use it. Only few of the selected people got the invitation to use it. Now back to our story, This simplified interface will help most users to interact with it more quickly and save some time for their other works. Most of people are addicted to Facebook applications and spend hours of their time on them. This makes current Facebook website to function slower. Because it is slower more people attracted to Twitter. Which gives you similar service. So my guess is Facebook is trying to be simple and faster like twitter. Here is the Facebook Lite interface.

For my point of view Google Voice is great free service that we all should have. It's still on Beta testing and you can only get it by an invitation. Google voice is basically phone redirecting service. You'll have a Google phone number and all your other phone numbers are associated with it. You can decide which phone should ring according to who's calling. It can be your home phone, Office phone or your cell phone. You also get standard features like call forwarding, Voice mail, SMS and call conferencing with Google Voice. Microsoft announced that you'll be able to get the final shipping product for Microsoft Windows 7 on October 22, 2009. If you need to try it before you buy it, still there is a chance. nv4_disp stuck in an infinite loop

I have tried to look for a answer to fix it from the web but none of them helped me to solve it. So I decided to do it by my own.

How To Unlock iPhone 3GS

How To Manage Photos Uploaded to Blogger

As a Google Blogger you may already uploaded hundreds of photos to your blogs. Did you ever imagine that you can see all of those pictures you have uploaded in one place ? or may be to delete some of the photos that you are not using anymore on your blog ? Picasa web albums from Google will hold all those pictures for you. You can manage all your uploaded photos from there.

You can sign in to it using your Google Account. Once you get in you can see all of your photos uploaded to your blogger blogs. Photos uploaded to your blogs are contained in different folders according to the number of blogs you have. The folder name will be your blog name. If you delete an image from the Blogger album here, the image will be removed from your Blogger blog as well, so please delete images with care!

Common Errors When Converting a Windows File System

I have posted a article about Convert Windows File System to NTFS on this blog some time ago. To day in this post I'm going to discuss few of the error messages that you might get in the process of converting your drives in to NTFS.

Error 1 - "Access denied as you do not have sufficient privileges. you have to invoke this utility running in elevated mode"

Resolution - You might get this error especially if you are using Windows Vista.

Go to Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories - then click right mouse button on command prompt and get the menu.

You'll get "Run As" as the second option.

Then Select the option "The following user" -> Select Administrator -> Type the password if you have one or leave it blank if not.

It will run the command prompt as the administrator.


Error 2 - "Enter current volume label for drive"

Resolution - You can find the Volume label just before the drive letter on My computer window. If it's saying "Local Disk" you can leave volume label empty. If it has anything else showed up in there you need to type exact same thin under the volume label.


Error 3 - "This drive is dirty and cannot be converted.you will need to clear the dirty bit on this drive by running CHKDSK/f or allowing AUTOCHK to run on it the next time you reboot."

Resolution - Right click on your drive and select properties -> Go to tools tab -> Under the error checking section click the "check now" button. Most of the time it will say "disk check will run on next time you boot the computer". Restart the computer. Leave the disk check run while the boot up. Let it scan and fix your drive.

Can't Open My Blog On Internet Explorer

For Past month I have faced some problems with my technology blog to get it open on the Internet explorer web browser. When I tried to open it using Internet explorer it gave me an "Operation Aborted" error. I couldn't open it. But I was able to open my other blog in the internet explorer without any problem and also for other web browsers like Firefox or chrome don’t seem to have this problem. Because this is becoming a frustration for my readers who uses internet explorer as their web browser I decided to search about it.

I have read many web sites and blogs and finally found some answers for it. This problem mainly caused by Followers Gadget or may be because of a third party Java Script. For my case it was the Followers gadget.

Since this issue was not fixed yet the only option is to remove the Followers gadget from your blog and if it didn't solve the problem try to remove other third party Java scripts you added to your blog.

I know this is not an easy thing to do. Removing certain things might impact the appearance of your blog badly. But for the time been this is our only hope. If you really wish to keep the Followers gadget try to put it in as low as possible position on your side bars. It fixed the problem for my other blog. I'm trying to do the same on this blog also.

If you are tired with your current web browsers, Try newly released Google Chrome version 2. It's been a beta test for this since March and now they have released the final version of it. It's super fast and stable also they have fixed lot of problems that came with the first release. From the speed it's only one step behind on Apple Safari web browser. That means it has beaten the Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

So, How to install it on your computer ? Probably you are having a older version of Chrome running on your computer. If you have it open the browser and go to tools button on the browser then press About Google Chrome option. It will open up a window and in there down at the bottom you'll find a update now button. If you are new to Google Chrome please go to this website and download it to your computer. Follow this video if you have difficulties following my steps.

Is it time to upgrade your PC ?

Computer technology is changing very quickly. New Hardware parts releasing very fast and even the Software is also changing very fast. So if you want to keep up with the phase you need to upgrade your computer more often. But if you are on a very tight budget this is not possible. But if you like to play newer computer games and like to use newer versions of software you'll definitely have to have a good hardware on your computer. Because not everyone is good at computer hardware knowledge they usually buy a new one. For my point of view this is wasting money. But in some cases you have to throw away your PC and have to buy an new one. For example, I'm still using a old Pentium 4 computer with DDR1 Rams and AGP Video card. So in my case there will be no upgrade. I have to buy or assemble (Which I always do) a new one because the technology changed so much that i can't use my old parts anymore. So, how will you decide when to upgrade your PC ?

If you are not in to Gaming or any other computer related professional work actually there is a very less chance that you want to upgrade your existing PC. If you are using it to surf the internet, listening to music or to word processing surely you want have to upgrade it. But one disadvantage of using a older system is if you want to replace a hardware part on it it will be really difficult or may be the price for that part may be too high.

The Royal Wii

The Nintendo Wii has positioned itself as the gaming console for everybody. As it turns out, that includes the Queen of England. Recently Famous game company THQ gave a special version of Wii for Queen as a gift. What makes the Queen's "Royal Wii" different? It's gold-plated, no more white plastic for Buckingham Palace. There was a rumor that she was "addicted" to playing Prince William's Wii last Christmas. Now she'll have one of her own a gold plated Wii.
