For video play back your computer is using a program called Codec. A codec is a device or computer program capable of encoding and/or decoding a digital data stream or signal. The word codec is came from 'compressor-decompressor' or, most commonly, 'coder-decoder'.
In order to get the full video playback function you'll need to download a program call K-Lite codec pack. Once you install it on your computer you'll be able to play all your video's through windows media player or any other player.
