Intel Atom CPU

Atom is a new dedicated Intel processor for MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices) such as netbooks and nettops. It has most modern functions like EM64T, SSSE3, etc. The Atom is the first in-order x86 since the Pentium. But don’t expect a competitor to Core 2 Duo from this Atom CPU.

Atom is a different architecture in the sense that it was designed to reduce power consumption and that the processor uses a totally new design. It isn’t an adaptation of an earlier architecture. So it's using less power Consumption than the all other processors.

Latest Atom processors such as Atom 330 is a 1.60 GHz (FSB533) dual core processor.

How to extract 001 files

Recently I have downloaded some files from Rapidshare and all files were named as follows. name.001, name.002, name.003 etc. I have tried to play them but none of the players recognize the file type. So I decided to search about this file format and I got to know that these files are just split by a file splitter, without compression.

Follow Day to Day Technical help on Twitter

Twitter !! There is nothing new about it. But for me it's new. I heard about twitter long time ago but I didn't want to dig more about it. But with the growing popularity of twitter I decided to take a look at it.

Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service. It enables its users to send and read other users' updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. According to the Compete.com blog entry ranks, Twitter as the third largest social network (MySpace would be second and Facebook would be the largest in the world), and puts the number of users at roughly 6 million and the number of monthly visitors at 55 million.

So I have created a twitter profile for me from the twitter website. It was easy. But after that I have no idea what to do. My goal was promote my technical blog using twitter. So I have searched the internet to see how I can accomplish that. I found this nice article on problogger.net website. While reading that article I found that I can automatically send my blogs RSS feeds to twitter using twitterfeed. This is my first post after setting up the twitter account. I hope this will work for me.

Watch this video if you are new to Twitter also.

DDR2 VS DDR3 Memory

DDR2 (Double Data Rate 2) is the current standard for the Ram’s (Random Access Memory) in your computers. For me, I’m still using DDR1 Ram’s because I have an old computer. But it’s going to replace with this new memory standard now. It’s called DDR3.

So, now you may think should I change my Ram’s to DDR3 now? No you don’t have to. But in the future you may want to change it. If you are a regular PC user, just browsing internet, doing word and excel documents you don’t need to change your memory. But if you are playing computer games and doing over clocking on your computer you definitely need to switch over to DDR3.

CPU-Z (Display your computer configuration)

CPU-Z is a freeware that gathers information on some of the main devices of your system. I know most of computer users don’t know anything about their computer configurations. This is my personal experience. Even lot of my friends doesn’t have any idea about the Processor, Rams and mother board that they have on their computer. They just buy a computer that’s looks nice to them.

So most of the time when they can't run an application or Game they call me to check it. Most of the time, it's related to their system configuration. The application they try to run requires more system requirements than they have on their computers. So if they can tell me their system configuration information, for example CPU type and Speed, amount of ram they have, it will be really easy for me to determine the problem even through the phone. That might save lot of time for me.
