AMD FX Vs Intel core i5

Over a month ago AMD has released an 8 core desktop processor called AMD FX. Today’s post is about if it’s any good against the Intel core i5 processor. Note that Intel core i5 processor is not the fastest processor which Intel produced on their core series. If we go back to our AMD FX processor line there are 4-core, 6-core and 8-core to be chosen from. You can only have 2 or 4 core setup on Intel core i5 product line. So the question is, can AMD’s new FX processor can beat Intel Core i5 processor ?

NVIDIA Ion Powered Nettop Out For Sale

A nettop is a very small form factor, inexpensive, low-wattage desktop computer designed for basic tasks such as surfing the Internet, accessing web-based applications, document processing, and audio/video playback. But when it's equipped with Nvidia ION, which means GeForce 9400M GPU it can do many more things that does not include in the above standard definition. These NVIDIA Ion Powered nettop allows you to Watch 1080p HD movies, play DirectX 10 games at great frame rates, and enjoy all the 3D capabilities of Microsoft Windows Vista Premium. Intel Core i5 Processors and P55 Express Chipset

On this September Intel launched their new "Lynnfield" based Core i5 and i7 800 series processors, and the accompanying P55 Express chipset. The whole idea is to target mainstream computing segment in the market. In United states Core i5-750 processor price is floating around $200 which is more affordable comparing to Corei7. (Click here to shop for Core i5-750 processor) Speaking about the P55 express chipset, because the Core i5 and Core i7 800 series processors feature integrated memory controllers and 16 PCI Express 2.0 lanes, virtually all of the functionality previously integrated into a northbridge is now on the CPU. As such, the P55 Express is essentially a southbridge chip, linked directly to the processor.

Is it time to upgrade your PC ?

Computer technology is changing very quickly. New Hardware parts releasing very fast and even the Software is also changing very fast. So if you want to keep up with the phase you need to upgrade your computer more often. But if you are on a very tight budget this is not possible. But if you like to play newer computer games and like to use newer versions of software you'll definitely have to have a good hardware on your computer. Because not everyone is good at computer hardware knowledge they usually buy a new one. For my point of view this is wasting money. But in some cases you have to throw away your PC and have to buy an new one. For example, I'm still using a old Pentium 4 computer with DDR1 Rams and AGP Video card. So in my case there will be no upgrade. I have to buy or assemble (Which I always do) a new one because the technology changed so much that i can't use my old parts anymore. So, how will you decide when to upgrade your PC ?

If you are not in to Gaming or any other computer related professional work actually there is a very less chance that you want to upgrade your existing PC. If you are using it to surf the internet, listening to music or to word processing surely you want have to upgrade it. But one disadvantage of using a older system is if you want to replace a hardware part on it it will be really difficult or may be the price for that part may be too high.

Solid State Drive (SSD)

A solid state drive (SSD) is a data storage device that uses solid-state memory to store persistent data. An SSD emulates a hard disk drive interface, thus easily replacing it in most applications. Flash memory is increasingly being used for so called Solid State Drives, which are intended to replace the hard drive where performance takes priority over capacity. The good old HDD is constrained by mechanical components, which prevent quicker access times andperformance.

SSD's comes with 2.5" and 3.5" in size that's fit great on your Desktop PC or Notebook and you can have capacity up to 256 GB in size .

Advantages

  • Faster start-up, as no spin-up is required
  • Typically, fast random access for reading, as there is no read/write head to move
  • No noise
  • For low-capacity flash SSDs, low power consumption and heat production when it's active
  • Ability to endure extreme shock, high altitude, vibration and extremes of temperature
  • lower weight and size

Disadvantages
  • Cost
  • Capacity
  • Limited write (erase) cycles
  • Slower write speeds

Intel Atom CPU

Atom is a new dedicated Intel processor for MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices) such as netbooks and nettops. It has most modern functions like EM64T, SSSE3, etc. The Atom is the first in-order x86 since the Pentium. But don’t expect a competitor to Core 2 Duo from this Atom CPU.

Atom is a different architecture in the sense that it was designed to reduce power consumption and that the processor uses a totally new design. It isn’t an adaptation of an earlier architecture. So it's using less power Consumption than the all other processors.

Latest Atom processors such as Atom 330 is a 1.60 GHz (FSB533) dual core processor.

DDR2 VS DDR3 Memory

DDR2 (Double Data Rate 2) is the current standard for the Ram’s (Random Access Memory) in your computers. For me, I’m still using DDR1 Ram’s because I have an old computer. But it’s going to replace with this new memory standard now. It’s called DDR3.

So, now you may think should I change my Ram’s to DDR3 now? No you don’t have to. But in the future you may want to change it. If you are a regular PC user, just browsing internet, doing word and excel documents you don’t need to change your memory. But if you are playing computer games and doing over clocking on your computer you definitely need to switch over to DDR3.

Radeon HD 4850 VS GeForce 9800 GTX

ATI or NVIDIA ? That is a big problem when you have to choose a Video Card. Both of the companies produce really great products. The performance you get from your Video card depends on the your other parts of the computer and the applications you run in your computer. Speaking about the applications everybody knows that nvidia cards are better optimized for Crysis and ATI cards are better optimized for Half Life. If you have a Intel motherboard or Intel chipset it's better to choose ATI. If you have nvidia motherboard or nvidia chipset go for a nvidia.

ATI Radeon HD 4850 and NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX are two of best video cards that's in the market. Best means there not expensive but producing great performance comparing to the price. Here are some technical specifications about these two cards.

Nvidia Tesla

The Tesla GPU is NVIDIA's third brand of GPUs. It's based on high-end GPUs from the G80 and on, as well as the Quadro lineup. Tesla is NVIDIA's first dedicated General Purpose GPU. In this post I'm going to explain more about NVIDIA Tesla C1060 GPU Computing Processor.

The NVIDIA Tesla C1060 transforms a workstation into a high-performance computer that can dramatically outperform a small cluster. This gives technical professionals a dedicated computing resource at their desk-side that is much faster and more energy-efficient than a shared cluster in the data center.
